J. David Conterio was elected president and chief executive officer of Hometown National Bank at a recent board of directors meeting. Jim Riley, chairman, announced the appointment, which was effective Jan. 1.
Conterio has been with Hometown National since 2010 and has a 31-year career in community banking with a specialty in trust, fiduciary and investment management. He’s been a key member of the bank’s senior leadership team since joining the bank and has served as president and chief operating officer since Jan. 1, 2017.
“Dave is uniquely qualified to lead our bank into the future. His excellent knowledge of community banking and commitment to community service makes him a great fit as chief executive,” Riley said in a press release. “Conterio will continue the team’s commitment to distinctive service, community involvement and strong corporate leadership which has defined Hometown National Bank.
“If you haven’t already met Dave, I encourage you to touch base. You’ll find him to be a very caring and insightful individual with a great sense of humor. His overall banking knowledge will serve our bank and its clients incredibly well.”
Hometown has served the area since 1880 and has offices in La Salle, Peru and Joliet.
Conterio is the president of the Illinois Valley Estate Planning Council, the treasurer for the Illinois Valley Community College Foundation, a past president and current member of the Estate Planning Council of Greater Joliet, and a current board member of the Joliet Junior College Foundation.
Dave and his wife, Deanne, live in Minooka and have six children.
Riley will remain as the chairman of the board and continue his activities in the community and on behalf of the bank.
