Minooka senior named February’s Rotary Club ‘Student of the Month’

Minooka Community High School senior Abigail Belluomini was named  the Channahon-Minooka Rotary Club “Student of the Month” for February.

Minooka Community High School senior Abigail Belluomini, daughter of Jennie and Brian Belluomini of Minooka, was named the Channahon-Minooka Rotary Club “Student of the Month” for February.

In the classroom, Abigail has a 4.17 grade-point-average (on a 4.0 scale), has been recognized as an Illinois State Scholar, and has received an MCHS Academic Excellence Award. Outside the classroom, Abigail is active with several MCHS groups and organizations, including Marching Indians, National Honor Society, and International Thespians Society. She also participated in the past four MCHS fall plays, winter children’s theater productions and spring musicals.

Away from MCHS, Abigail gives back to the community as a karate teacher for the Channahon Park District, as a preschool religious education teacher for her church, as a volunteer for Feed My Starving Children, and as a counselor-in-training at a summer camp for children with diabetes.

Although she is unsure of where she plans to continue her education after graduation, Abigail plans to major in early education or elementary education.
